We get it. You’ve always been a little…different. While one half of the world speaks in numbers and logic, the other talks about creativity and The Big Picture. But there are a few out there, like you, that sit in the middle of this Venn diagram, those who truly appreciate Beautiful Data.

You see, we’re a team of one-percenters ourselves that get to exercise both sides of our brain on an hourly basis to build engaging and analytical experiences. Most of our work lives in the finance and media spaces, although healthcare is quickly becoming a good friend of ours too. Our work lives on five continents and speaks many languages, but all of it is fluent in usability. Some of our work is only meant to be seen, though most of it begs to be touched. You’ve almost certainly seen our work, never knowing it was ours. We judge our success in numbers, like our billions of page views last year, or hundreds of millions of unique visitors, not award submissions.

But hey, enough about us.

Maybe you’ve been a designer for a few years, but you’re looking for some exciting work that offers stability and a challenge. You know what you’re good at: maybe it’s user experience, maybe it’s interactivity, or maybe you know just how to work with a client to make great ideas come to life. In any case, you’re humble, hungry, and ready to bring your work to the next level.

You:

  • Can describe the importance of user experience to your grandma.
  • Don’t mind diving into Excel, but think it’s visual capabilities… leave something to be desired.
  • Crack open a newspaper and find yourself torn between reading the Business and Arts & Leisure sections.
  • Might even be able to describe the difference between a mutual fund and an ETF.

We…

  • Admire Cooper, Dubberly, Strausfeld, Tufte, and each other.
  • Are experiencing another growth spurt and need you there with us.
  • Adore all of our children equally; Strategy, Process, and Execution.
  • Come from traditional fields like graphic design, advertising and IA, but also less-traditional ones like industrial design, education, heck we even have a little cryptography in our blood.

Our Culture:

  • We like making and playing games. Ball games, word games, and sock games (we’ll explain later).
  • We have a smattering of communities within the company, from basketball to bocce. Actually, we don’t have a bocce group… yet.
  • We’ve put together head-shaving fundraisers, brewery nights, and seed swaps just to name a few recent community events.?

But wait - there’s more! Up till this point, each chapter has ended here. In this case, there’s more to comments than just getting them working. Let’s also talk about how to manage them and how to prevent comment spam.

Well, at least that is my opinion!
